Ichinomiya City is famous for producing high-quality textiles, which have been used for world-leading brands. The Textile Thanksgiving - Ichinomiya Tanabata Festival is held every July in Masumida Shrine that enshrines the god of textiles and other areas, as the biggest event in the summer for local people. The main feature of the event is colorful Tanabata decorations along the streets. This festival is well known as one of the most gorgeous Tanabata events in Japan, attracting about one million visitors each time. Another pleasure of this event is to enjoy many stalls lined up on the street at night.
